Classroom vs Homeschool Teacher
July 19, 2024
Hi! My name is Kim. Ever since I was a 5 years old, I have loved teaching. I've always seen something magical about helping someone else learn. To this day, I still believe there is magic in learning.
I felt called to be a teacher when I was 12 years old. God placed me in a profession in which I could help others. I went to MTSU for college with a major in Early Childhood Education. I believe in the early development of a human and their abiities to learn. I wanted to contribute to one's foundation of learning. My dream job was to teach 4 year olds in Pre-K or first graders. I never had interest in kindergarten because it was such a transitional year. Little did I know...
Once I started working in the educational field, it seemed I was destined for kindergarten. I ended up teaching kindergarten for 5 years. I have also taught first, third, fourth, and fifth. I've been in the classroom for 12 years. Every year has been an adventure! I've taught in TN, GA, and FL. In 2020, my dreams of being a principal or assistant principal some day came to life. Educational Leadership has a large impact on student and teacher success.
However, i have officialy stepped out of the classroom. That's right! I have choosen my son. This year, 2024, I will transition from a classroom teacher to a homeschool teacher. For now, my son is my number one student. In the future, who knows, I may start a learning pod, micro school, or co-op. For now, I'm excited to transition from the educational system to a setting with the simple LOVE of learning.
I hope you come on this journey with me. I'm excited to try something new!
