Chapter 35- Life

 July 6, 2024

PIVOT!!!

Man, this word could be no truer in this moment than in any other moment of my life. I'm excited for year 35! There is so much change happening right now.

        Some change comes with peace.

Some change comes with fear and lost of the great unknown.

        Some change comes with excitement.

Some change comes with letting go.

I'm truly in a season in which I believe I am letting go of what I've always known and letting God take the lead. I could sit here and tell you ALL the times God has stepped in for the past 12 months, but instead... I'm going to let you watch the magic unfolfd. I'm excited for this coming year.

Let's begin with "The Road Trip!"

July 8, 2024

We traveled from Florida to Georgia. It was about a 5 hour drive. We stayed with our friends, Mark and Beca. We even got to go to dinner at our favorite Mexican restuarant, Mesquite. I LOVE their chips.

In Georgia... We started the day with some Lazy Lama by my old school, Ola Elementary. We headed to Southern Belle Farms to meet up with some friends, Rachel and Ansley. We shopped at the market for a little bit. Then, we headed to their house for some hang out and play time. It wasn't long before we headed out to Noah's Ark for some fun in the sun and animal gazing. After some much needed down time, we headed to another AMAZING food place, American Pie Pizzeria.

In Georgia... we started the day at Waffle House with one of my favorites, Stephanie Sorrells. Then, we headed to her house to met the new puppy she has. He was a little crazy! We then started our drive to Middle Tennessee. It was another 5 hour drive. We ended in Hendersonville, TN at Demos' (another AMAZING food place). After dinner, we heaed to Clarksville, TN to stay with our friends, Bryan and Tara. Branlee had a blast with their daughter, Elliot. They stayed outsdie until 10:00pm chasing fireflies. <3

In Middle Tennessee... we had a good chill day. We spent 3 hours chilling at the pool. Our kids did some homeschool work together. It was so cool to see where life has led us after all these years especially starting our friendship in college to be in education. We ended the day with some yummy Mexican. And of course, the kids played outside until 10 or 11 pm again. (SMH.. LOL) We love these exploring children.

We started our trip from Middle Tennessee to West Tennessee. It was only a 3 hour drive. We made a stop in our old neighborhood to see some GOOD friends, Chelsea and Frankie. It was so fun to catch up and get hugs. These girls will forever be in my heart. I LOVE them, forever and always! Then, we headed to see my bestie since high school, Leslie. We had a free dinner (giftcard provided) at Cracker Barrel plus some shopping.

In West Tennessee... we spent the morning at the Memphis Zoo (the BEST zoo in my opinion). After the zoo, we enjoyed lunch at a prime spot in Memphis, Huey's. My mouth is still drooling! It is one of my favorites. I grew up on Huey's. After some down time, we enjoyed dinner with my dad and stepmom,  Chris and Lesley.

We started our trip from West Tennessee to Jackson, Mississippi. On the way, I stopped by to see a GOOD friend, Sara. She is anothe gem that will always be special to me. We have seem so much in education over the years and have taught together in more than one setting. Love you , Sara! From there, we traveled to see our friends, Steph and Clay. We stayed at their place for the night and got to meet baby Miles (who I LOVE). It was so fun seeing them and just chilling.

For dinner, we had a sweet gathering with my grandma, uncle, and aunt. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Amerigo's. It was such a sweet moment with family. I'm glad we have had opportunities like these to see each other. :) I look forward to other chances to spend time with family.

July 15, 2024

Our trip was offically over! We headed back to Florida. We met up with Casey in Pensacola where he was working and then headed home. We saw a total of 18 people on this journey... 21 including the children! My bucket is full.

This has been one of the best trips and ideas I have ever had! It was inspired by my desire to spend my birthday with friends. I have traveled and lived in different places. I have made GREAT friends along the way. I missed them! It only made sense to pause on life and check in with ALL of them.

I WILL CHERISH THIS FOREVER <3
