Hello from a fellow teacher!

Someone said, "You should start a blog." So, I did.

January 1, 2022

This is definitely new to me. I'm the person who is perfectly fine with hiding in the shadows. I'm sort of the quiet one when it comes to new ideas. It's rather funny, because I have ideas I want to share and many would classify me as blunt. But, I'm not the person to just put myself out there. Well here we go... I'm going to put myself out there.

Hi! I'm Kim. I'm a teacher. I have taught 2 year olds all the way to 5th grade. I've done my fair share of professional development, data talks, MTSS, SST, and so on meetings. I started my career teaching in Tennessee and now teach in Georgia. I am married to a wonderful man I call my husband. He keeps me grounded. We have a wonderful 3-almost 4 year old son. Also, we have two fur babies in the family.

I went to school for my undergrad in early childhood education. Then, later on, I went back to school to get my graduate degree focused in reading specialist. My whole career people have told me, "You're going to be a principal someday." If you know me, I'm 4 '11 and that just sounds crazy to me. However, after last year, I have found a new interest in leadership.

But, first I want to share my secrets. I want to share my success. I want to share thoughts, strategies and ideas from my experience as a teacher. I hope you will join me on this adventure as I begin a new chapter in my life.

I'm calling this blog "A Different Classroom" because when I look at my classroom, it is different. I don't do things the "traditional" way. I have a different approach. I've watched and learned from some of the great educational rockstars out there. From each, I have found little things to piece together in my classroom. I can't wait to share them with you. Let's go!
